Helping you create harmony in all parts of life.
“Quanta” are the smallest discrete units of a system, and a reminder that with the right support and framework, even overwhelming issues can be simplified into their distinct parts to improve understanding and aid the healing process.
Sara Loughlin, LMHC
The foundation of my practice is based on two main principles: the importance of building a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship, and the knowledge that finding peace and balance in life and relationships can be both a challenge and an invaluable opportunity for personal growth.
Through a combination of traditional talk therapy and body-centered, compassion-focused, and trauma-informed approaches, my goal is to provide an inclusive and safe space where individuals and couples can learn to use curiosity, compassion, and their body’s innate wisdom to discover their own unique path to healing and connection.
I believe that individuals already possess all they need to find healing and move toward self actualization. Counseling, and the therapeutic relationship, creates the safe framework for that important work to take place.
I specialize on working with those experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, chronic illness, and relationship issues, and use a combination of IFS, CBT, Compassion-Focused, and Polyvagal theory in my counseling to help individuals and couples to develop self-awareness, self-acceptance, and a ready toolkit of coping and communication skills. I offer an inclusive, nonjudgmental, and tolerant space for all, including LGBTQ+ individuals.
My residency was spent with a focus on chronic illness at the Oncology Support Program at HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston, NY, where I also continue to facilitate group therapy.
I hold a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Antioch College, and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State.
